Olathe West Summer Camps begin June 1st!

See below for information and registration.  Grades are determined by the 2021-2022 school year.

 

Summer Weights and Conditioning

For students in grades 9-12 in the 2021-2022 school year.

 

Baseball – Grades K – 9

  • June 7 – 9

All campers should wear baseball pants, hats and cleats.  They should bring their own bat, glove, helmet and water bottle.  Each camper gets a t-shirt and the focus is on baseball fundamentals for all positions and offensive execution.  Safety is a must!  Email questions to Coach Rick Sabath:  rlsabath@olatheschools.org.

 

Boys Basketball – Grades K – 12

Camp is designed to teach all students the fundamentals of basketball through drills, contest and games.  Instruction will include:  ball handling, passing, rebounding, defense and a special emphasis on shooting and individual offense.  Both offensive and defensive team concepts will be introduced and developed.  For incoming 9-11 graders, the camp will also serve as an introduction to Owl Basketball.  Students will learn and practice the same drills, fundamentals, terminology, offensive and defensive strategies that they will need to know when they start high school basketball.  All Olathe West students who intend to try out for basketball teams this year are expected and highly encouraged to attend.  Email questions to Coach Brad Ball:  bcball@olatheschools.org.

 

Cheerleading – Grades K – 8

Join us for our Annual Little Owls Cheer Camp.  This year’s camp will feature a Little Owls Showcase!  Our West Cheerleaders will lead the Little Owls Cheerleaders in groups according to their grade level.  They will learn a performance that is sure to impress!  Campers will receive an OW Cheer T-Shirt with registration.  Email questions to Coach Sami Baker:  sabaker@olatheschools.org.

 

Cross Country – Grades K – 8

Do you like to have fun?  Join the Olathe West Cross Country team to learn about running, play games, and hangout with the Owls!  Each camper will go home with a t-shirt, and there will be a mini XC meet at the end of the week.  Invite you friends!  Email questions to Coach Kelsey Carbajo:  kcarbajo@olatheschools.org.

Non-Padded Camps:  All camps will be operated by the Olathe West High School coaching staff.  The focus will be safety, fun and an introduction to Owl Football.  Camps will include individual skill development in the areas of offense, defense, and special teams.  Campers will be introduced to offensive and defensive terminology used by the Olathe West Football program.  Campers should wear t-shirt, shorts, and cleats.  All campers will receive an Owl Football Camp T-Shirt.  Email questions to Coach TJ O’Neill:  tjoneill@olatheschools.org.

Camp participants WILL gain confidence, develop and refine technique and leave with a thirst for more!  Our youth session will TEACH and develop offensive and defensive fundamentals through skill stations, competitive drills, contests and games in a fun environment.  Our middle and high school sessions will maximize potential through position specific instruction, challenging drills, team concepts, technique work, and competitive games all designed to prepare for the next level.  Each camper receives a t-shirt.  Email questions to Coach Rick Rhoades:  rrrhoades@olatheschools.org.

The Olathe West Track & Field K-6 Kid’s Camp will introduce athletes to the multitude of jumping, running, and throwing events that make up our awesome sport.  Participants will be taught two different events daily culminating in a mini-track meet on the last day of camp, where their results will be recorded so they can take them home.  Middle and High School campers will have a chance to receive individualized coaching specific to the events they participate in.  Athletes will work with their event coaches in order to improve their technique and learn drills and training methods that will benefit them for future seasons.  Campers are expected to wear running shoes and workout gear each day.  Email questions to Coach Dee Bell:  ddbell@olatheschools.org.

Wrestling – Grades 1 – 12

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or brand new to the sport, WE WANT YOU!  Campers will need to wear clean workout gear each day including: shorts/sweatpants, t-shirt (no sleeveless shirts), socks and wrestling shoes (optional).  Campers will learn technique form coaches with numerous years of experience, as well as participate in team building, live wrestling, and a lot of FUN!  Campers will receive an OW Wrestling t-shirt.  Wrestlers of all abilities and skill levels are encouraged to attend.  If you have never wrestled before, we still strongly encourage you to attend your grade level’s session.  Email questions to Coach Tyler Rodden:  tarodden@olatheschools.org.
